17 teeth and the same sprocket used on a single manual mag since at least mid 1930's. But you do not use the key special nut clip and washer on the mag. As Stu says, you must use those fittings on the dynamo. Prior to about 1951 new pt. no. 000725 was
STD 725. Should be plenty about, Used on all singles for about 20 years. On both mag and dynamo.

Really surprised to read the same sprocket used on the mag and dynamo. Not so on my bikes. The dynamo has the two slots for the special washer, and the mag does not. Tried to look it up on the Archives but its not working. Anyone else having that problem?

The dynamo sprocket is deeper, has 2 or 4 (?) slots for the special locking washer and 2 flats for a spanner. I can't remember if it's 2 slots or 4. (Its 4 slots , just looked it up in the archives. So they're working for me Clive)

You are right it's 4 slots and the key way for a woodruff key, not fitted on the mag sprocket.

Looks like I had my prewar AJS head on. I Checked, the post war AJS did have a different sprocket STD 726. As I have only prewar AJS, I guess that's why all the I have are the same.
