Hello again, it's been a while but now I have a renewed vigour and enthusiasm to brush off 2 years of dust and take another look at the project aforementioned in this thread.

On the subject of identifying Dads bike, I have now come into the possession of some scribbled numbers relating to the bike and just wondering if any of you here that have shown interest in dating it would be able to deduce anything from the following from Dads handwritten notes.

Engine No 54JS479B / 58/G80S 132479
Frame No F8687 A62141
Timing chest No T9522
Gearbox No D956 G4D54 937 / M29432

The bike was sold to Dad by a Mr John Wright with an 01924 telephone number.

I appreciate only some of the numbers will be relevant, they are a combination of numerous scribbles.

Thanks.

Matt.

Take some photos of the engine number and frame number and gearbox number, but thats not so important. Then everybody will know what you have once and for all. Then you can get it properly dated by the dating officer and you have completed your first major stepping stone

Thanks Alan.

Next time I'm over at Mums, I will get some pics of them.
Hoping to get it brought home soon to crack on at my leisure. 👍

Got a little trailer project to sort beforehand, converting an oil drum transporter trailer into a bike trailer.
