I am looking to replace the oil pipes on my 1952 G3LC with stainless braided pipes and incorporate a filter as the alloy central oil tank does not have one on this bike.
Measuring the existing feed and return pipes, the bores are dia 7mm and dia 5.5mm respectively, but there is a oil pipe union, Part No. 011924 Union oil feed pipe (engine end) which has a bore of dia 8.5mm.
Does anybody know what the purpose of this part is? Can I simply ignore the increase in bore and use internal dia 7mm tubing without this adapter?
