Wiring Harness model for G3LS 1955?

Post by rudelan_LAPSED »

Hello, I don't have the time or the strength (health) to finish my 1955 G3LS.
So I decide to buy a complete electric wiring for my motorcycle.
There are two models AMC1 (1945-1955) and AMC2 (1955-1958) from LUCAS.
I asked the question: what's the difference between the two and which is the right model?
They can't help me because they don't know. Who can help me?
Thank you, Ruddy

If you but one from Catmando who make them specially for AJS and Matchless and others, he will ask some questions and make sure you have the right harness to fit your bike. He will probably be cheaper and supply a wiring diagram. He advertises in the jampot magazine 01603 736999

Feked answered my question by sending
me some of the electrical schematics. AMC1 is
with negative ground. AMC2 is with positive
ground...

Is the difference that the loom for the '55 to '58 models has wires for the torpedo lights fitted on the headlamp?

Good point and could be Neville. If there are no other differences, the wrong loom would not be too difficult to adapt. Where the , lets say, side light, connects to the switch. Put two wires on the switch. They would be Bullet connections to connect on the short wires coming from the torpedo lights. If torpedo lights are on a fairing, lie my 55 G3/LS earth wires would be needed.
Some wires in the loom may differ in length though. Depending where Battery, CVC, Horn, Speedo etc are fitted.
