Hi, I'm trying to put the clutch basket on my 1959 G3. It seems to be catching on the chain case. Could anyone tell me if there should be a spacer that goes on before the basket? I can't see anything on the exploded diagram.
Thanks, Neil.

Re: Clutch basket refitting
Hi
The basket is located by the clutch hub which in turn is positioned by the gearbox main shaft, to my knowledge there is no spacer inboard of the hub.
Are you having trouble re-assembling the clutch, (ie. it was working before), or is this your first assembly trial? There are various combinations of clutch components that work but many more that won't.
Best bet is to post some photos of the components you are trying to assemble.
Regards Mick
Edited to ask, What was the problem?
