Hi Al
My battery goes down after a while so I thought I would add
A flick switch in the earth wire to the battery .
All went fine and until the flick switch is in the correct position the lights won't come on
But
With the battery insulated I turned the ignition switch to the right and the bike started
Which makes me think I have always ran the bike on emergency ?
On coil ignition switch ( the small switch not the large prs8 switch ) which way is normal running ?
Cheers
Andy

Re: 62 g3 ignition switch
Is it not marked E & I. My Wipac L/Weight are. I would have thought coil H/W Lucas would also be marked. Just looked. It will tell you in your bikes instruction book. The switch positions should be marked. You may also read, if your battery is dead, use emergency position, but switch to Ing. once the bike is started, or miss firing will occur.

Re: 62 g3 ignition switch
Hi
The Lucas 63SA ignition switch should be wired so as turning clockwise from the central position puts the circuit into normal running mode, (IGN), turning it anti clockwise puts it into emergency, (EMG). Is this the switch you have?
Regards Mick
