Side stand spring connect on frame?

Post by rudelan_LAPSED »

Hallo,

I bought a side stand for my 1955 G3LS on a stock exchange this morning. Arrived at home I look for the assembly. I can not find where to connect the spring on the frame .. A picture is possible? I first looked on the forum before asking my question.
;) Thank you Ruddy

Hi Ruddy

Have a poke around in the right area - they can get blocked with road debris / oil and then painted over.

There should also be another set further back on the same frame rail just in front of the centre stand lug

Search and ye shall find, the two holes are there in near side rail one position keeps the stand down and you have to flick it up, the other position the spring tension retracts the stand , this how it is on my G 9
