G3LS 1955 - Type of Harness wiring LUCAS ?

Post by rudelan_LAPSED »

Hello,

I do not have any electrical wiring on my G3LS 1955.
My G3LS went out of production on April 4, 1955. Lucas offers two types of wiring:
1945-1955 AMC1 or 1955-1958 AMC2 ... Which one to choose?
Thanks! Ruddy

There is a diagram in the instruction book for 1955 G3/LS. You will need the correct parts on your bike for the wiring to be correct. Note the headlamp has torpedo side lights. You may have a different headlamp so wire as the headlamp you have shows on earlier or later headlamp. You may have a pilot bulb in the headlamp reflector and no side lights or both. Note the diagram shows no stop light wiring. You will see wiring for the horn. If wiring yourself using various wires, colours, connectors, etc. Cut the live horn wire where it is hidden from view, fit a double bullet connector. The live horn wire passes through the connector, take another wire from the connector, through the stoplight switch then to the stoplight filament of the bulb.
