My 1953 G3ls is equipped with a teledraulic fork but I do not know if this is 1 1/8 or 1 1/4. How to measure?
There is a problem, I do not tighten the top of the fork and the supports move. :(
So it turns out your 1953 is in fact a 1955 G3L! It should then have 1 1/4 forks then which you appear to have from the measurements.
The parts list is here http://archives.jampot.dk/book/Spares_l ... ingles.pdf
To stop the headlight mounts from moving you need the rubber bush part number 021910 available through club spares. For the lower shroud check you have the buffer Spring 021761 fitted.

Unless you mean the fork stanchion is loose in the crown even when you have fitted the bolt.

Of course sorry, she is a 1955 (Dating on club : 1955 GLS with frame number A31269)

Info parts : 02-1735 fork shrouds (173mm x 55mm) 1954>

My problem is that my measurements my shrouds give 17.3 cm in height and 5.9 cm in diameter instead of 5.5 cm for a fork of 1 1/4

I pulled off my fork. Surprise, one of the spring is replaced by two different parts. :o I indicated the measures. I did not continue because at the bottom of the fork, it is a bolt and I have no key ... what type ?

Question: What does it mean 'fick or sumfing'? ..... I do not understand

You are going to need two new fork springs. To get the rest of the forks apart you need a box spanner not sure of the size but it is going to be whitworth.

Your English is far better than my French Rudelan, I am sure most people understand what you are saying.

I would not worry about the fork shroud unless it looks wrong. Its the right length but may be a little wider. I am not sure about that. If you get the box spanner and check if you have the buffer springs, get two new main fork springs and the rubber bushes for the headlight ears and I think you should try reassembling it all. The buffer springs may well be there and your problem in the lower part simply be the wrong fork springs.

The box spanner needs to be 1/4 whitworth for the bolt at the bottom of the forks, just had to wire brush the spanner in my tool kit to see the size, must have got very wet. It has to be a box spanner as most sockets would not fit. Back then no-one had sockets we all had box spanners.
