Full hub front brake plate

Post by simmons.m »

Bought a full hub from Newark...
Rebuilt with new rim and spokes--- just offered up to my forks and it appears to want to mount with brake plate on the right???
My 57 G3 mounts on the left.
Any ideas?
Cheers

Cannot think why if the hub bearings spindle etc has been assembled correctly? . Different years?
Spot the difference in the 2 pics 55 & 57. They may give clues. Note brake lever arm position. Different cable.

Thanks again Rob.
That seems to make a bit more sence now. I was trying to get the brake lever position behind the fork leg as per 57
Check again in the morning.

I wonder if the torgue arm will prove correct for the wheel???? Don't forget the torgue arm goes against the fork between the fork and guard. I have seen this against the guard, where it will not tighten up flat due the guard beaded edge. Not that you will do that, but it is an error that sometimes gets overlooked.
