I have been running my G3 on UK standard unleaded (95) for several years now with no ill effects.
Several friends swear by 98 and always use it if they can![:)]
As the alloy heads already have valve seat inserts cast in there should be no problem of valve seat errosion on these bikes.[8)]
I have not noticed any problems in about 100,000 miles over about 15 years [8D]
The only change you might need to make is to retard the ignition timing slightly, I found that my bike runs OK at about the standard setting [:D]

The best advice is to "experiment" with 95 and 98 and see if you notice any difference, say over a couple of tank fulls of each.
The information I was given was that valve seat errosion only became a problem over about 5000 RPM, as these bikes don't do that there should be no problem![:D]
