Hi All
I wish to replace the rubber/Neoprene oil pipes (tank to engine) I assume they are 1/2" bore. The spares scheme list shows such pipes as ' for twins' , can some confirm this pipe is OK for my recently purchased model 16?
Thanks in advance.

AJS model 16 was introduced in 1935. You need to state year and model.

I think the late single oil pipes are the same bore as the twins. You have the fittings, why not measure them? By the way why are you replacing them? In my experience they seem to last forever!

1/2"
I measured the ones I have here in the shed for a 1961 G3LS
I ordered my own hose and fitted that. Used some nice jubilee to clamp them on.

Thanks all. Old ones seem to be hard and inflexible so changing them as I plan an oil change.

"They are all like that Sir" If they fit and don't leak I would leave well alone.Paul350 wrote:Thanks all. Old ones seem to be hard and inflexible so changing them as I plan an oil change.

Hi
These are original 1961 vintage pipes - still going strong, if yours are similar I would do all I could to not change them.
Regards Mick

Re: Model 16 oil pipes
I had to swap mine as they were leaking. I have kept them as patterns and I may see if I can clean them up and soften tbe joint bit.
