Air filter

Post by Martin.S »

Been playing again - made up an air filter out of some thin stainless and an old piper cross foam filter from a BMW Mini.

You may need to change carb settings / parts with the filter.

I've got an alternative piston in there so I'll be expecting to may be make some adjustments to the carb settings.

I'm going to put it under the tank - up towards the head stock - keeping the HT lead much shorter - why they put it where they did I don't know!

No difference in carb settings according to the manual. I made a filter for mine (a copy of the original type) and didn't need to change anything

Rare as rocking horse poo especially as the manual states that the were not required for the UK market due to our clean air!! Quickest way to wear you engine out is to leave an air filter off no matter how clean the air seems
