One of the first things is get a clear definition of which bike you have (i.e which model and confirmation of the year)

For a small fee you can use our online dating service at http://dating.ajs-matchless.com - this will confirm the year of manufacture and the model number as it left the factory. Knowing these details enables you to get the correct parts list and parts numbers.
For parts lists and documentation take a look at http://archives.jampot.dk

When you know the part numbers, you can then view our website at http://www.amoc-parts.com
Many parts have photos alongside to help in identifying them as well as their availability and price.

As you not (currently) a club member you won't be able to place an order online, you can however place an order by emailing our spares team at spares@jampot.com

If we can persuade you to join the club and benefit from all the experience that the members here can offer, you will have access to technical articles, all the latest adverts for both bikes and parts, the ability to place orders online, and you can to join our Spares Scheme whereby you get 10% discount off your orders placed with us.

If you chose not to join, your access to this Forum will be limited to 90 days - after that you can still read the Forum information, but will not be able to ask questions nor reply to others.

The membership fee is minimal when compared to the wealth of information you will have available at your keyboard!

Welcome to the forum Jack.

The G5 is one of what are known as 'Lightweight' bikes.

As you know the G5 is the 350cc, the 250cc version is the G2. When looking on the archive pages that Eamon posted a link to, look for manuals/parts lists and info that states its for the Lightweights and I am sure you will find all you need.

Hello and welcome, Jack!

Here is what you need to get to know your bike: http://archives.jampot.dk/book/Owners_m ... Manual.pdf
As Peter says, there is plenty of useful information on that site.

Basic guidelines: join the Club! Lightweights are lovely to ride, easy to work on, but the technical documentation is sometimes unclear, confusing or just plain wrong. If something isn't clear, ask here or search the archives. Parts availability is hit & miss and Club Spares don't have a huge range of parts for Lightweights. You can usually find everything you need to keep the bike on the road, but cam followers, advance/retard mechanisms, high compression pistons, some of the tinware and a few other bits and bobs are difficult-to-impossible to find.

Good luck with the restoration!
