Flare on front mudguard

Post by Roderick »

I'm having a front mudguard straightened at the moment which is basically in good shape but a little bent on the sides. What I need to know to do this, however, is the width, measured from the outside edges, of the flare on the front guard.

On the rear mudguard the flare is about 5 & 5/8 inches measured (on the outside) where the second (rearward) inside, strengthening strap is sited although on this guard it tapers down towards the rear tip. Is the flare on the front guard similar?

Are you living it to guesswork if the bike is that as stated on your profile. If not you may not get a correct answer, or perhaps an answer at all.

Rod a rephrased answer is that although you have put this in the G5/model 8 section it is always a good idea to confirm the date and model you are asking about in your post, especially as for mudguards the year may well affect the answer. Sadly I cannot help.

The basic outside width of mine is 5 3/8" and 5" where it goes between forks.
