I would enjoy watching you argue your bike through an MOT Spids! Do you take the manual with you? I had a bike failed because it was fitted with off road tyres, the tester quoted from the manual which stated the gaps between the treads should be smaller than the knobbles. So much for taking off the "not for road use" from the sidewall with an angle grinder.

I came across that bit when I was looking up regs whilst idly wondering about having a knee operated throttle lever on Marigold's tank. (As you do).
I was also surprised to read that it's acceptable to have a friction device on the twistgrip to hold it in open positions. I always thought that the twistgrip had to close when released, but that may be a 60's memory of having my Greeves scrambler scrutiniered.
