Lightweight 350 sprocket

Post by Pete Muller. »

Putting my 1962 G5 back together I noticed my very worn engine sprocket had too many teeth! It has 25 and should be 22...I guess someone wanted to go faster.
The diagram shows a spacer behind sprocket, which is absent leading to excessive movement on the shaft I think.-supplier??
The sprocket has been welded up at some time in the past and can be replaced but I can't locate the spacer.
Also when the assembly is put together the rotor of the generator can move 5mm in and out...is there another spacer needed?
And another thing!...I can't see how the tab washer locks the nut as there are no splines at this point on the shaft...(There is a slot cut in the shaft end however)
