All the info you need is in the owners manual here:

There is a huge amount of information on that site...

I ran it today and a bit of oil cane out, I think the best bet is to drop the oil and refill, where the sump bolt? And what oil is best?

There are two sump bolts - the front (narrow) one is the oil tank. The fatter rear one is for the crankcase (it's got a magnetic trap in it). Take out both and drain any oil.
Refill with 2 1/2 pints of oil. I use Halfords Classic 20/50.
You can also use "straight" SAE 30 [edit: SAE 50] oil. Don't use a modern oil.

I would use straight SAE 50.. you may get away with 30 in the winter if you ride then but in the summer 30 will go like water. I just use 50 all the time now but my bike doesn't get ridden usually after about October

I agree with Paul: the manual says SAE 30 for 0-10 degrees C ambient, with SAE 50 for above 10 degrees and SAE 20 for below zero (!)
If you use it as a summer bike, SAE 50 is the right choice (plus, it'll leak less...)
