G2 250 CSR Oil Level
Hi, apologises for any daft questions I may have as I'm a novice!
I have a G2 250 CSR and when I checked the oil level, I cannot see any oil at all, is there meant to be some showing in the reservoir?
I don't appear to be able to upload a picture at present, but hopefully you get the idea of what I'm asking.
Cheers
Lee

Try putting a clean screwdriver in and see the mark the oil leaves to show a level.
It's a long time since I had a 14CSR, but I used to fill it to about an inch below the filler cap.
Hope this helps.

The correct level is 1" below the filler cap after the engine has been running.
This is about 1/4" below the oil return hole that you can see if you peer in through the oil filler.

Two more shots, so are you saying it should be 1 inch from the top when the engine is running?

Re: G2 250 CSR Oil Level
If you haven't run the bike for a while, you may be suffering wet sumping. This is where the oil drains from the oil tank into the sump. Running the bike should mean the oil pump will return the oil to the oil tank. If the sump gets really full, the bike might get hard to start and you may have to drain the sump. So if you can run the bike for a while, then check the oil level again. Do this before adding any more oil.

Thanks for that, I'll try and give it a run at the weekend as yes I think it's been stood for a while.
Any tips on dropping the oil, location of the sump screw?
