Sourcing 17inch rims and spokes

Post by Fish91 »

Picked up my new/old model 14, what a state but hopefully be a nice looking classic after some hard graft. While my bike is in bits i'm going to rebuild the wheels and fit new tyres. Tyres and tubes seem pretty easy to come by however finding the correct rims and spokes is looking tricky. I can see a few of you guys have found these yourselves could you point me in the right direction for sourcing these items?

Cheers

Devon rims, every time for me. They do 17" in wm1 and 2, (maybe even 3, never looked). In stainless and chrome. You need to speak to the boss re spoke length. But, make sure of the hubs that you have. their are some for bog standard 250s and better ones for CSRs and 350s

Good luck on your re-build Fish91 i have just finished my 250csr took 2 years of hunting for parts etc etc mind you it was just an engine and frame when i picked her up. Ive never had the correct wheels for my one still looking as above Devon rims are good for the rims etc...lots of luck.

Hi

I'd highly recommend Devon Rim Company - not the cheapest but I can't fault the rims, spokes and service I received.

I re-built my wheels at home - found it not difficult and very therapeutic / satisfying.
