new rocker cover different?

Post by ade »

My old rocker cover is damaged and so I purchased another but it is different? the old one seems to have what appears to be an oil way? but the new one does not have it. Does this matter?

Are the two boxes for & fit the light weight head & both the same except the oil ways?

I think later 250s had the oil feed to the push rod area removed..................not a clue why

That's right - there's no oil drilling in the later models. There still seems to be plenty of oil feed to the top end on mine, but I haven't figured out where it comes from...
Presumably it just spills from the rocker shafts?

Seems the difference has been explained. I had never taken notice of my bike bits when dismantled.
