1961 Ajs 14 Wheel bearings

Post by welden »

Hi
Could anyone advise me on the correct method of removing the rear wheel bearings on a 1961 AJS 14 as mine are sounding a bit rough and will metric sealed bearings be an accepted way to go.

They just tap out (from the inside out) and tap the new ones back in. They are readily available from the club as far as I am aware and also ebay

Thanks Ozmadman

I wasn't sure just how hard to tap them which was why I posted the question. So after your answer I just gave them nice firm tap and out they popped. I have ordered the new ones from where you suggested So thanks for the info
