Alan Jacobs (Biscuit) ~ unwelcome news

Our regulars will have noticed that Alan Jacobs, who posts under the id ‘Biscuit’, has been off the site for a while. Alan is one of our most regular and knowledgeable posters. He is a highly skilled engineer and has used his skills to help many fellow motorcyclists.

I am very sad to have to tell you that Alan has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of lung cancer. He starts treatment next week and the doctors are hopeful they can stave off his illness for some time ahead. This is Alan's second brush with cancer. He fought the previous cancer, a different type, very stoically and doubtless will this one too.

I am sure every one on the site wishes him well. If anyone wants to send him a card can you PM me and I will arrange getting it to him.

I think that all readers of the Forum will, like Ken, wish to voice their support and best wishes to Alan. I am sure that if anyone has the determination and strength of character to overcome this, Alan has.

I can only agree with what has already been said sadly like others in the forum I have not met Alan but wish him well.

Unfortunately, I have never had the pleasure of an in-person conversation with Alan. On the other hand, this forum has allowed me to benefit from his wisdom & wit.

I have met Alan on several occasions and, despite him being very rude to Teddy, we wish him all the best for a good recovery.

Allow me to join in and wish Alan and family all the best. Though I only know Alan through the forum, I am sure his influence on all AMC and certainly the forum, is second to none!
