Hello, I live in Denmark and is riding a G 80 S from 1957. The bike has lived most of its life in GB and when I bought it it had the registration number: MDR 886. Can this number tell anything about where and when it was registrated? I don´t know anything about the bikes history.

British registration number
This bike would have been first registered in Plymouth, Devon in January 1957. Thats the only information that a registration number can give.

Thank you, Colin,
-Just one more thing.
Does this mean that the bike has had the same owner until it was exported or does the registration number follow the bike.
Also when it changes owner?
Regards Ib

The registration number normally stays with with the bike for it's life.
It can change if an owner applies and pays a fee. It is most likely the number has stayed with the bike in your case.
