Hi how do i go about downloading a user manual for my 1954 g3ls

Go to archives.jampot.dk http://archives.jampot.dk
and chose books, then manuals etc

You mentioned that yours was a '53 in your post of March 21st where I replied with the link to the manual...........

Yes was first registered in 54 but has lots of earlier parts frame wheels headlight so not always easiest to find the right manual for whst i need at the time

Have you had the date of dispatch from the factory established through the dating officer? This would give you a starting point but does not take into account the actions of previous owners.

Hi Derek.
There's a useful history of year by year changes in the 'Technical Articles' section (top right of this page) which may help you to identify your 'Bitsa' parts.
If you put Changes as a search word in the 'Search' box you get this list of articles referring to the year by year changes to the Heavyweight single machines:

As an observation not a criticism: The front hub/brake and fork lowers are WD to 1947 to start with and a new side stand spring may be beneficial or shorten the one that is on there.
