i need new tyres and realise the club supply them , but who does anybyody use to remove the old ones and fit the new ones or is it a matter of buying the tyres from the same person who will fit them.

I think most of us do it ourselves. It's a doddle after the fifth tyre and a couple of nipped tubes.
I always fit a new rim tape and tube - a decent quality tube, not a cheapy eBay offer.
Maybe John Bolton (see his ad 'Workshop 14' in the Jampot mag) would fit club ones for you. I haven't checked but I think he's Northants way.
Google says both these co's in Northants supply and fit classic motorcycle tyres. They will most likely expect you to give them just the wheel, not the whole bike:

Perhaps take the wheel etc. to a section meeting. Should be a few there to demonstrate.
