Fasteners, Bolts, Nuts, Screws

Postby Brian011952 » Mon Aug 05, 2019 1:26 pm

I live in the US, so I have limited access to some of the replacements for these bikes. I have a G9 that I'd like to buy new/replacement bolts, nuts, screws, etc for. Can anyone tell me if they know of a person or business selling these in a complete kit form.

Hi

All of the fasteners you need are readily available, check out club spares or,

http://www.amcclassicspares.com/

and

https://acmestainless.co.uk/?v=79cba1185463.

You'll need to do a bit of research and work with the parts lists and your bike to establish exactly what you need, but that's the fun of it - welcome to the club.

If you tell me the year I may be able to point the way to find an excel version of the parts list you can sort, to show, all nuts bolt studs etc. plus finf sizes tor standard fittings. You could then count how many say, 1/4" 26 tpi nuts your bike needs and where they all fit.

Welcome to the Forums, Brian.
In case you are not aware you can find (and download) the original Spares Lists, Workshop and Owners Manuals (look under 'Books') and a great deal more technical and historic info here:

While in the archives, you could check out " parts lists " in the second down from top of the list DIR, in which you will find some excel parts list files I spoke of, their may be one for you bike G9 or AJD mod 20.

Thanks for the replies. I was hoping for a complete kit instead of buying individual pieces. I can get complete kits for the Japanese bikes I restore down to the washer, nut, screw and they are offered in multiple finishes and/or Hex, Allen, and Phillips head. I was hoping for a UK company doing the same. I will look where you guys directed me for the bolts that I have to match exactly, and the rest I will probably switch out to a more common size available to me here. Thanks again for the responses.

The bike I'm working on is a 1952 G9.

Hi

Don't know if you're a purist or not but be aware that AMC used bolts with radiused heads and no chamfer, nuts are single chamfer.
