Fork sliders

Post by John52 »

Hi.
Could anybody help direct me to somebody that could supply a pair of Front Fork Slider Extensions for my 1956 G3LS. I an trying to restore the machine that has been unused for about 30 years. I have got most of the new bits I need for the forks but cannot find any new Slider Extensions, the present ones are very badly corroded so I don't think they are any good to rechrome. I have tried all the main and obvious sites with no luck so far. The nearest I have been able to find are the correct length but are about 2 mm greater in diameter, does anybody know if this is ok, it is still smaller than the internal diameter of the outer sleeve.
Heres hoping one of you can help.

Try club spares they might have stainless in stock, or AMC Classic spares.

Thank you.
I did try them first, then trawled all over the net.
Just thought it was worth while asking in case anybody came up with something I didn't know about.
Spare sit is showing stock due in on 1/4/19 so I guess that isn't going to happen.
Part number is 021907 by the way.
