Barrell Query

Post by Brad »

Good evening
I have inherited several boxes of spares which includes some barrells, three of which are 500's. Two of these measure approx five and three quarters from the base flange to where the head sits and have 11 fins. This is the same as my own G80. The third barrell measures approx six and three quarters from the base flange to the top and has 14 fins. This is a new one on me. Does anyone know what I may have please?
If it ain't broke, fix it till it is. ;)

I may have something similar in the shed, does yours have the cutouts for a twin port head?

Hi Duncan.
Interesting point. I will examine it more closely when I try to take some pics later.

Hopefully some barrell pics, but I'm new to windows 10 and having difficulty.
I get to "upload attachment"
"choose file"
Pictures are in dropbox where I choose the required pic and open it, then click "add file"
Shortly after I am rewarded with a message saying "file is empty"

Can anyone put me out of my increasing misery?

SNAP!

Although mine is a lot more rusty, I saw Dudley at Ardingly on Sunday and was telling me that it is for a pre war twinport, apparently the gudgeon pin is lower in the piston, he has just at great expense had his repaired as he did not think he would see another one for a while!
