I have some problems with finding the correct technical terms in English, and google translate is not always that dependable from Norwegian to English either. I hope someone can help me with the following issue:
Should the keyway point to the center of the crankpin hole when mounting the timing shaft? G3-350-1941mod

Welcome Andreas.
I don't have first hand experience of the 1941 engine but on later engines ('47 onward) the timing side axle is fitted so that keyway points towards the centre of the crank pin. From memory a mark on the timing pinion will also align with the keyway.
There's a workshop manual which includes MOD 350's here:
