Cooking with Spookefoote..........mmmmmm! (Sorted thanks)

Postby spookefoote1956 » Sun Feb 03, 2019 6:53 pm

Tomorrow I'm fitting a new bush into the high gear for my beloved wife's Cub. The bush is in the freezer and the gear will be going in't th'oven after I get back from my morning swim. I'm certain there are quite a few expert Fannys out there who have accomplished similar tasks before. Does any one have any tips on how long and temp (fan oven) until my gear is ready to receive the bush.

Cheers, Chris

When I put the bronze bushes in a B52 'box output gear I pressed them in with a vice using a mandrel turned up on my lathe - I don't like cooking tempered steel. These bushes are fairly soft and compress to fit easily. Cheers, Andy
