1955 g3lcs copper oil pipes

Can somebody confirm if the oil pipes on my bike are correct, the feed pipe from the tank through the metal mesh filter is 7/16" OD and goes to the bottom connection at the crankcase, the return pipe is 3/8" OD and returns through the felt filter back into the tank, I would have thought that the bigger bore pipe would be on the return side of the pump not the way it is?
