Hello again,
Would anyone have a clear photo of the copper oil pipes, for a 1949 AJS 350, that they could forward to me.
Reason being, the engineer who is repairing the broken, upper, crank case thread, is questioning the torturous bend in the copper pipe, just prior to the union.
Hope that makes sense.
Thanks again.
Mac.

It is a bit tight down that bottom end. It has a longer union, to ease access also give clearance for the nut part to turn. Without that bend the pipe will not be able to go straight in & out at 90 degrees, between crank case and gearbox.... Which it must do. I wonder why it changed. In 1936 pipes were easy to access at the bottom. Do parts list drawings help? Pic's below. Also for 1936, if you are curious about where pipes entered then.
