1949 AJS 350 oil line threads

Post by Mac01 »

Well, its all stripped down for the crank case oil union threads to be repaired.
What thread are the oil unions, in the crank case ? (the feed and return to the oil tank)
The engine number is, 4916M 10138B.

Thanks.

Mac.

Don't know exact size, but they will be British Standard Pipe - measure hole diameter and look up BSP tables - they don't use 'normal' i.e. 5/16 in, etc, sizes for the threads. Size is based on pipe size through middle, not thread size. Andy

Mac, the thread size is BSP 1/4 x 19. This is a standard British parallel thread pattern, and here is some additional info on the dimensions.

Tracy Tools and a number of other vendors stock this size. Usual disclaimer.
