Re: side stand spring
Some frames don't have the forward holes. Just drill one approx 1" rear of where the front frame rail just turns from flat to round then insert the spring hook. The exact position is not critical.

Re: side stand spring
Morning,
Below is a photo of a right hand lower rail showing the holes.
This is a later 1964 frame again showing the holes
But my 56 G80cs doesn't have these holes, hope this helps.

Re: side stand spring
Thanks. I will look again and post what I can see.
I might take the advice and drill holes where I nee them.
Do I need two holes? Does the spring hook between the two holes? The spring on my bake was not correct AJS/Matchless - I am not too sure what it came off.
Thanks

Yes - the hook on the spring enters the frame tube via one hole and exits by the other.

Re: side stand spring
Thanks all again,
Channi, I have those rear holes as per your photo but I feel the stand is too quick to retract using them. I have checked again , I have no forward holes so I will take Ajscomboman's advice and drill two holes about level with the stand pivot, but on the right side. I will play around with jubilee clips.
