B T H Self Generating magneto

Post by bitza »

As a point of interest, has any member fitted a B T H self generating magneto in place of a K2 F, if so
Were there any improvements I- e starting , and general performance, this is just a general query, thanks.

I fitted a BTH mag on my BSA 500 single one year ago, replacing a Boyer Branson electronic ignition which was built into the original mag 15 years previous.

I found the BTH mag easy to fit and very easy to set the timing accuratly.
The bike starts easier than before particularly when it is hot, it runs more evenly enabling a slower tick over setting and i think the bike performs better.

If my G12 CSR needed a new mag i would go down the same route based on last years experience

Hope this helps FRED
