Janet, you do realise it's under the rocker box? It's not the easiest bolt to get at!
To save you the bother, I can try a standard 3" bolt first...

Eeeh lad! I'm dim but not daft. While I could dishonestly claim the credit for being selflessly helpful, I'm not dismantling it just for you.clanger9 wrote:Janet, you do realise it's under the rocker box? It's not the easiest bolt to get at!

Back in October in Belgium, Vesta has begun to burn oil at a greater rate than previously. (I fix the major leaks and it finds another way out ) Yesterday morning, having started it up because I hadn't used it for a while, I decided to investigate the cause so need to take a look inside.

Thanks, Janet. If you've got the lid off then it'd be great to get confirmation of the bolt size.

Re: Length of "extra" Lightweight head bolt
The errant bolt is a total length of 3" from the base of the head to end. The threaded part is ¾". Just for clarity, that's at the end not next to the head.

Re: Length of "extra" Lightweight head bolt
I can confirm that a standard 5/16" x 3" BSF bolt is a perfect fit. Thanks everyone!
