Nothing very exciting I'm afraid, but in order to make room in the kitchen to fit new bushes in the gearbox..................

and since the project G80CS was in the dining room.........
.......the project G15 CSR had to be moved into the hall....

At least this time the gearbox rebuild is inside , rather than in a car park in Italy on the P11

I just cant remember if I replaced the bushes on the 46 G80L in the late 70's during the original restoration
fingers crossed for tomorrow when I go out on a test ride

just found a chip out of one of the layshaft splines . :-(
have to run with it though - probably find the part in a few minutes when I clean out the grease out the gearbox case
modern replacement part a few years ago .

should have gone to Russells rather than Kempton!

I am sure there was a complete gearbox on the stall next door shame you missed it just like the coil tester.

now I will have to go out to the garage and check my spare cp boxes
just like an autojumble stall
2 layshafts for grease cp
2 layshafts for later oil filled
2 early layshafts with chips on the spline on 1st gear

enough to start the rebuild in the morning and , have spares

Peter, thank you for the dimensions. Much appreciated.

What is the visual difference(s) in the CP layshafts when Burman shifted from grease to oil?

Thank you,
