Air filter for M30

Post by silverspur »

I thought I would treat my M30 to a smart, black oblong air filter from the club spares scheme, to replace the ugly round pancake one currently fitted.

Two probs: First, there is no obvious way it fits. Anyone got one fitted who can post a picture, please?

Secondly, the club has no joining pipes from filter to carb, and the filter box has a ridiculous rectangular exit, seemingly millimetres form a large, round carb mouth. Again, anyone solved this problem?

Thanks.

Hi silverspur. My G3 had the factory filter fitted under the front of the seat with an ugly piece of aluminium flex hose bodged to connect to the carb. I turned up a round adaptor to envelope the slotted exit and clamped it using the two screws and washers, then raided a local motor factors parts bin to find a rubber hose I could cut and fit.

There are some pics in my earlier postings but being digitally challenged I don't know how to post a link to them.

Just tried to repost the topic if it helps, if not I could email pics to you.

It's in the G3 help section.

Regards

Steve

I think this may be what you need. Price with postage a bit much for what it is.
