Thorspark Ignition Unit

Post by pallijen »

Hi, has anybody got a set of Thorspark ignition unit instructions they could copy for me please. I have recently bought a non running G3LS(1953) but the five A4 pages of instructions and diagrams are practically unreadable as they must have got wet at some time. When the lights are on the ammeter is reading just past the 8 amps. Is this an earth problem? Thanks. Also, when kicking over the bike, a pool of oil is left on the floor. Any thoughts as to where this will be coming from? All help greatly appreciated

You could contact Sussex Motorcycles and ask them to send you the instructions.

Thanks Rob/Peter. Did that and got sent instructions from Sussex Motorcycles, no charge. Also they tested the trigger unit for me and returned F.O.C. What a nice company.

The oil is probably blowing out of the crankcase breather which is situated behind the chain case. Has the bike not been used for a long time?

No, not used for a long time. There was quite a bit of oil in the sump
