I see the tyre lady is setting a new trend by not having a huge smart phone in her back pocket

Have I got SERIOUSLY old or are Heidenau K67 tyres a P.I.T.A. to fit?

I warmed them up and used plenty of tyre soap... still HARD work!

I hope I never get a puncture, I think I would probably sell the bike rather than have to fit the tyres again.

I'm a firm believer of the sturdy cable tie trick. Use 6 or 8 heavy duty cable ties with the tube carefully encased and you'll at least fit the first side to the rim okay. Second side might need some ‘grunt' but plenty of soap and water and walking on with your heels should do it.

I have a couple of bikes with Mitas tyres on them, I have never had to use a lever when fitting those, plenty of tyre soap, and tread them on easily... i guess budget tyres aren't so tough as these Heidenau ones.

I have Mitas on my 56 AJS 18 and people have asked where I got them, they like the look, and for pottering about on the Irish lanes they have given no scares..

I've had no scares with the Mitas tyres on my bikes either Clifford, except when a rear slipped round the rim and ripped the valve from the inner tube, we were 2 up and doing 50 at the time.... rear swayed from side to side but I managed to keep it upright. Once we came to a standstill my Mrs wanted to know why we'd stopped   :? Now, who's job was it to put some air in the tyres? 🤔😬

Respect, that's when I thank the stars I enjoy off roading, practice always helps, a similar thing happened to me when I was overtaking, and I still put my left arm out to signal I was pulling across, I'm still baffled to this day what my brain was thinking....
