I'm wondering if Land Rover swivel hub grease/oil would be any good as I've got two sachets of it, not quite oil or grease just a gloop but would squirt in with a turkey baster or similar.

Hi
If I wasn't a bit of a rivet counter I'd fit a grease nipple in the end plate and fill it with wheel bearing grease - it's not that critical.
Regards Mick

Mine is fitted with grease nipples, so you reckon just pump loads of grease in, would be a lot easier.Mick D wrote:Hi

Hi
Pump in grease until you see clean grease coming out of the felt seals - job's a good'un.

All the knackered ones I've seen have been pumped full of grease.

Ordinary grease might not work its way into all parts of the bearing and it does dry out over the years. Stick with 140 oil or at least a semifluid grease mixed with 140 if youre desperate to slow the ooze
