I was wondering if there was any lacquering as standard on the alloy parts ?
At the moment I am on stage-1 polishing and its proving a struggle to get back to smooth alloy

Re: alloy parts - lacquered ?
Hi
To my knowledge there was no protective coat applied to the alloy surfaces - nor were they highly polished, I think the polish was the result of owners actions.
Remember the more you polish the less heat escapes.

Re: alloy parts - lacquered ?
There was never any lacquer applied at the factory. Only the outer covers were polished.

Looks like the alloy has had some kind of chemical treatment, have now managed to penetrate the "layer" and remove the corrosion, should also be able to recover a nice finish.
