inner/outer primary chain cover

hi all
please can somebody tell me i would like to change my primary cover from tin to alloy my bike is g80s 1955 which has the shock absorber spring i am not using the dynamo as im changing to trials bike can this be done and with what model of bike am i looking for i have outer alloy but need inner

I think it will fit ok so long as you don't need the dynamo. I would question though, why do it? The tin chaincases are easy to make oiltight with the club's improved seal. They look the part and are slimmer than the bulky alloy alternator chaincases. Edit: looking at george's post, it won't fit without machining out to fit the crankcase boss.

Trevor, why not come along to the North West section clubnight this thursday at Charnock Richard football club. It's just off the A49 and starts around 8pm.
