'56 G3LS Fork cover tube fouling mudguard

From my memory, the holes in the mudguard bracket are elongated in a vertical plane which means if you slacken the nuts on the fouling side and move the m,gard bracket up it should centralise the mudguard, use a sheet of paper wrapped around the fork cover tube as an extension to the fork tube cover to check clearance before bouncing the forks up and down and possibly destroying the paintwork.all my machines had the anchor fitted next to the fork leg, if required, make up a couple of spacers same thickness as the brake anchor and fit these to the other side to even things up a bit,nice little Saturday morning job.!

Yep. I always fitted the anchor next to the slider and it is now. But have to say that it's difficult to go against what P10 says and I'll do it diffrently in future; I never had the chance to work at the factory.
