Post by nvmat1 »

Hi. Perhaps of interest, there is a Matchless bicycle frame on ebay, said to be 1930's:

This is now the second month it has been listed. There were Matchless and AJS bikes from 1934 to 1938. Unless some one has a sales cat. for any other year, that's all I know. There were over 20 different models offered in the yearly sales cats. There was also a Sales cat. for Kiddies bikes. These were the first AMC badge different bikes I am aware they made. Motor cycles not being badge different until the post wars years. There were Matchless Penny Farthing bikes. That came out of the Singer sewing machine company. Made in Holbon London. It was when this company let claim to the name Matchless lapse, that the Colliers stepped in making claim to the name. Plus a registered logo. Which was in the form of a vernier gauge measuring a cog.
