Here's just a small taste of the 40 AMC bikes on our pitch. My box Brownie doesn't do justice to the exotica and the superb daily rides on show but I understand that a Pro-Snapper was there and hopefully there'll be a proper write-up in the Jampot.
Colin Seeley brought a small part of his collection, all of which were run up with awesome tunes. The 250cc Honda 6 was a real screamer.
The chest thumping, ear splittinging G50 was shut down to a round of applause.

Shiny Dick won Best in Show with his 1937 990cc side valve Ajay V-twin, complete with beautiful teak decked boat shaped period sidecar. Unfortunately he was hustled into place before I could obtain decent photos. He bought it for a tenner in 1962 as a solo as transport to ride to school after blowing up his three quid side valve BSA 990cc V-twin at dead of night doing an indicated 103mph on the clifftop near Brighton. One conrod exited the front of the crankcase and was never seen again, the other exited the c/case and pierced the gearbox, locking it solid and leaving a 100 yd rear tyre mark on the road just 20 yards inland from the top of the 90 feet high cliff top. The whole story of that and his ten quid Ajay is too long for here and will be written up for the Jampot in due course.
At the other end of the drooling scale and in spite of strict instructions that it wasn't welcome, 'Arsey' section treasurer Chopper smoked in on his AMC ( ) James. Ruddy nerve

(Nearly finished)
Once in full swing the stand was pretty much crowded all day.
And Bi-sectional (Hants & Sussex) Ian tried hard to spiv up his outfit for the judges, but alas, to no avail.

In connection with the show must be mentioned that hard-working Showmeister Ray won best in class for his 1952 Model 20.
Bought in April from our Chairman, ('Honest' Roy) for a song (allegedly 'Who wants to be a millionaire?'') Ray carried out a total nut and bolt restoration in 6 months, the first part of which appeared in the April Jampot mag.
Here's a quick 'Before' snap..
And since I couldn't get to it at the show, here's the superb finished article as exhibited. Every bit of the work (except the mag rebuild) carried out by Ray in his shed.
Well done Ray, and for the grand organisation of the show stand.
(That's all, folks).

I would like to add our thanks to Ray for all his hard work today, it can't have been easy and he pulled it off with no hiccups whatsoever, making it look easy, but we all know differently!
