Model 18S Front Forks

Can anyone advise on how to remove the fork sliders on a 1956 18S.
I have removed the front wheel, mudguard and the bolt in the centre of the fork slider, but it still won't come off!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Am I missing something?

If the slider extension (the top of the slider that will unscrew) has been removed, you need to clamp the upper forkleg in a vice and then with a downward jerk release the oil seal which is a tight fit. If this fails, try to heat up the area around the oil seal and repeat above step.
