What is the best method to remove the bronze bushing off the kickstart shaft 040477?

Hi, the recommended method to remove the bronze bush from inside the kickstart shaft is to use a large tap to screw down the bush until it reaches the bottom of the hole and to keep turning until it pushes the shaft out. Maybe there are other methods that another member can suggest. Hope this helps.

Hello,
I replaced the gear shift bush by heating the cover evenly in an oven, screwing a tap into the bush, then turning the cover over and striking the end of the tap with a drift using a hammer.
Think if you try to use the tap to force the bush out backwards, you may damage the cover.

Not necessarily the best method, but I put a 2 saw cuts in mine with the end of a hacksaw blade to loosen it and pulled it out. There is probably a dremel tool bit that would make the cut.
