Scammer be warned

Post by mikeydpippin »

Just to let you know there's a scammer about.
My advert for a 1963 G80 front hub is now available to see if you are not a member.
I,ve had an e mail from a David Blau from the USA and a photo of a similar bike in very good condition ( exact bike and background easy to find when googled)
Telling me he will be wrecking this bike and he will have every part I need at a very good price.
I,m guessing he would next be asking to send him payment.
Deleted.but beware.

Not even a G80

This is his email

I had the exact same approach from a "Tom Brown" from the USA (btom69165@gmail.com)
Find below the attached photo of my 1966 250CSR . I am breaking the
complete for parts , I want you to send me the complete list of parts
that you need so that my mechanic will get everything removed once .

And I will also need your exact shipping address to enable me figure
out the shipping fees along with the prices for the parts .

Hope to hear from you soon next

The photo is obviously not taken in the USA. The scammer was also oddly evasive when asked for photos of said parts...
This was in response to an ad I placed in Jampot, so someone out there is targeting our members. Be warned!

PS: as the scammer is using a Gmail address, you can report the fraud here: https://support.google.com/mail/contact/abuse?hl=en
Not sure if it'll have any effect, but maybe worth a try.
